What Kind of King? | Psalm Sunday
This Palm Sunday message explores the powerful contrast between the kind of king the world expects—and the kind of King Jesus truly is. Drawing from Matthew 21:1–11, the sermon traces Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, not on a warhorse but a humble donkey, fulfilling ancient prophecy and revealing His mission of peace, sacrifice, and eternal reign.
Rather than coming to conquer Rome, Jesus came to conquer sin. Rather than claim a throne, He marched toward a cross. Through this message, we are invited to see Jesus not only as the King of history—but as the King of our hearts.
The sermon challenges listeners to lay down their expectations, surrender their lives, and respond to the question that still echoes today:
"Who do you say Jesus is?"
